East Lothian Open Tournament
One of the highlights of the tennis year in North Berwick is the East Lothian Open. The tournament lasts a week and normally takes place towards the end of July (see calendar for this year's dates). There are matches on the 6 club courts throughout the day and into the evenings; in addition, the all-weather surface at Dunbar Tennis Club can provide up to 6 further courts.
There is a wide variety of events during the week, including singles, level doubles, mixed doubles, juniors, seniors, veterans and handicaps.
There is usually a healthy entry from members of the club, and the handicap events enable players of all levels to take part. If you are interested in entering or finding out more about the event, contact Kirsty Preston at East Lothian Council (work tel: 01875 824011).
Spectators are welcome and refreshments are available at the clubhouse. There is also a social event each evening, when the tennis has finished.
